Invitation to the Japanese castle

Many Castles are in Japan. It is said that the castle of 25,000 or more existed once.
Something like fort which was merely really only surrounded with a fence, The thing that it remains in the document, and the existence was not proved is included, but, still it is sure that it existed in a considerable number. The Castle begins as a fort for the battle historically, it developed as a Symbol of the power as a Center of the politics.
As a Castle taxonomy by geographical features classified by a military science person of the Edo era includes Yama Shiro (Mountain Castle), Hirayama Shiro(Flatland Mountain Castle) , and Hira Shiro (Flatland Castle). 〈 Explanation 〉
In the times that were the world of the war, most were built on the mountain using the topography by a point of view that strategic and defensive. However, the Mountain Castle for fighting becomes unnecessary when telling the end in the world of the war, When it is the peaceful times, in the castle, convenience as the Fief Management came to be pursued than a Role as the Battle Use. Therefore, Hirayama Shiro built on the hill and the Hira Shiro built on the flatland become mainstream. And to strongly have implication of the power ostentation for the people of the feudal clan of the daimyo blockaded there, it came to take the role as the base on governing the castle town. With this, the Castle Tower is made as a Symbol of the Fief Rule, and the Beauty as the Castle is pursued, too. This becomes the Image of the Castle which we generally have now.
In the Edo era ,Hesitation to "the Tokugawas" who is Central Government ,and for reasons of " the Ikkoku Ichijo Rei (Law of One Castle per One States)", Local Daimyos came to hesitate about new construction, the enlargement, the reconstruction of the Castle.
Therefore the number of castles followed a course of the decrease. Furthermore, there are only 12 Castles that are still preserving their appearance even after the abolishment ordinance of the Meiji Restoration, and War, Fire, Natural Disasters. Other than that, the Castle that can be seen now was reconstructed and restored after the War.
Unfortunately, since the Edo era, it is only 12 Castles that a Castle Tower and a Castle exist as former times. 〈 12 Castle Towers which exists 〉
